With help from the North End Food Security Network and Ralph Brown Community Centre, St John’s Residents Association is offering a free jam making workshop.
It will be on Monday August 27 from 5 – 8pm at Ralph Brown Community Centre.

Basketball for inner city youth provided through spin in cooperation with The University of Manitoba
NEW SWISH:
Project SWISH — Supervised Weekend Inner-city Summer Hoops — will be introduced this summer, Basketball Manitoba announced. Through a partnership with the U of Manitoba, it will offer a free drop-in basketball program at the U of M Bannatyne campus.
The program will provide an opportunity for inner city kids aged 12-18 to play basketball under the supervision of paid staff and volunteers, including adult basketball players, coaches, and community members. Children, aged 12 to 18 and their families who reside in the inner city are welcome to participate.
SWISH will run Saturdays, 11 a.m.- 5 p.m., June 30-Aug. 11.
Free transportation will be available, including free bus tickets and bus/van rides for children accompanied by adults.

This week at the rec: March 5th to 11th, 2012
Our after school programming for ages 6-12 runs Monday to Friday from 3:30pm to 6pm. This week there will be:
Crafts on Monday and Wednesday
Sports on Tuesday and Thursday
A movie & popcorn on Friday
For youth ages 13+ we have:
Homework Club from 6pm-8pm on Thursday
Our Bi-weekly North End Opportunity Network (NEON) meeting at 12pm on Saturday
And in other programming we have:
North End Losers meetings on Wed. from 7pm-9pm and on Sunday from 9am-11am
The skating rink remains usable and always accessible, depending on the weather.
